St. Martin Parish School

Scrip is a term that means "substitute money, cash, gift cards, or plastic money". When you purchase scrip, you are purchasing gift certificates that are used just like cash. The scrip is issued by national and local retailers where many of you already shop. These merchants want to support non-profit organizations. Scrip can be used for everyday items like food, clothing, gas and other essentials. Every purchase earns revenue for you and the school.

The Great Lakes Scrip Center acts on behalf of churches, schools and other non-profit organizations to purchase large amounts of scrip from grocery stores, department stores and other retailers. Because the scrip is purchased with cash up front, the participating retailers offer a substantial discount, and re-sell it to you for full face value. The discount varies from 2 to 15 percent. Our school and your family split the discount 50/50.

The reason for the effectiveness of Scrip is simple: families generate revenue through purchases they would make anyway. Just spend your regular shopping dollars with Scrip at the stores that participate in the program.

If you haven't used the Scrip program or don't use it regularly please make this the year!! If you ever have any questions, do not hesitate to call Andrea Fender in the office at 573-893-3519 or email questions to her at school@stmartinjc.org. Please find below a Question and Answer Sheet that explains the program in detail.

How To's

Scrip orders are filled daily. You can send the order form to school with your disciple, submit your order via www.shopwithscrip.com or purchase on weekends during Scrip selling weekends.

Enter your order through www.shopwithscrip.com. But first obtain the school code from Andrea Fender at 573-893-3519. When you choose this route, it is just like filling out a form, same vendors, locals included! Once you enter your order, we receive it in our queue immediately and it is filled that day and sent home with your child. If you go with this route, please send your check to school the day it was ordered or the following day, once again in an envelope marked ‘scrip’. If you used PrestoPay, you do not need to send any paperwork to school.
